HELP-ICE Coach & Ambassador

Do you ever encounter people who find it difficult to explain their needs during stressful moments? Would you like to better support them in this process?

Then take the HELP-ICE Coach & Ambassador training and learn how to support someone in creating a HELP-ICE digital profile using plastic cards, a neck/keychain, or stickers.

This training is for professionals in healthcare and social services. This includes caregivers, support workers, counselors, consultants, and client support staff, as well as volunteers.

 

What is HELP-ICE?

HELP-ICE provides information on how to best interact with someone. For example, when someone is temporarily speechless.
HELP-ICE offers concrete tips on how to interact with this person in such a situation. This ensures they receive the right support.

HELP-ICE can be linked to many current topics in healthcare, safety, and well-being. It therefore has a preventative and cost-effective effect.

The HELP-ICE Card has proven itself in recent years, and as a paper card, it has been adopted by HELP-ICE, offering significant added value. A digital HELP-ICE Profile can be linked to contributed HELP-ICE items.

 

What will you learn during this training?
You will learn and discover what HELP-ICE is. You will learn in which situations HELP-ICE can help someone. You'll also learn who HELP-ICE is suitable for and how to support someone in creating a HELP-ICE digital profile and linking it to wearable HELP-ICE items such as plastic cards, necklaces/keychains, or stickers.

You'll also learn how to coach your colleagues in creating a HELP-ICE digital profile for a client or resident.

 

At the end of the training,

  • you'll be able to collaborate with someone to create a HELP-ICE digital profile and link HELP-ICE items that meet the quality requirements.
  • you'll know which communication tools are available, where to find them, and how someone uses them.
  • you'll be able to explain what HELP-ICE is and how to obtain and use it.
  • you'll be able to coach your colleague in creating a HELP-ICE digital profile with a client or resident.

 

Training Content

Participants will be supported in guiding the creation of HELP-ICE digital profiles, whether or not linked to wearable HELP-ICE items. The training consists of two parts:

  • Part 1: Knowledge and understanding of the principles of HELP-ICE.
  • Part 2: Key competencies to support someone in creating/completing a HELP-ICE digital profile and wearable item such as a card or pendant.

 

Online or in person

The training can be delivered online or in person.

  • Online, the training consists of two half-day sessions.
  • In-person training takes one half-day.

 

Time investment

  • The online training takes two half-day sessions of 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  • The in-person training takes one half-day session of 3 hours.

 

Costs

Upon request per person or group (including training materials).

This training can also be offered in-company. If you do not have enough participants, you can also inquire with organizations you collaborate with if they are interested.
